Obituary for Ira Josephson
Ira Elliott Josephson, 60, of Aventura, FL passed away suddenly on Monday, September 16, 2013. Ira was born on December 22, 1952 in Stamford, CT to Abraham and Ruth Josephson. Ira served with the fire department for 25 years in Hartsdale, NY, attaining the rank of Assistant Chief. In the mid '90's, he moved to Coral Springs, FL. For 10 years he was the HOA President in Eagle Trace. Ira had many passions in life, but there are three that define him best: his girls, aviation, and sports. He lived for his beautiful daughters and adored his granddaughter. Ira would do anything for his family. Being a true aviation enthusiast, he earned his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. While also being a fan of all things sports, hockey was his favorite sport. Most often he rooted for Miami Hurricanes, New York Yankees, and Florida Panthers. Ira is survived by his daughters, Dana Ashley Delamadrid and Alexis Josephson; his granddaughter, Madison Riley Delamadrid; his father, Abraham Josephson; and his sister, Cheryl Effern. Funeral Services will be held at 11:15AM with Rabbi Bradd Boxman of Temple Kol Tikvah, Parkland, FL officiating on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, with burial to follow at Star of David Memorial Gardens.
